Founding members Dennis Greaves and Mark Feltham started making music and playing live together in South East London back in 1977. Half a century on, Nine Below Zero are still creating and playing some of the finest UK rhythm and blues around, and their anniversary year is shaping up to be a busy one.

The guest list is impressive. Iconic Jam bassist Bruce Foxton, fast-rising Zac Schulze, incredible blues pianist Ben Waters, legendary guitarist Robbie McIntosh and long-standing co-performers Dr Feelgood will all appear at selected shows.

The tour opens on 19th February at Band On The Wall in Manchester with Dr Feelgood, and the two bands team up again in Southend, Blackpool and Southampton. One of the standout nights is set for London’s Cadogan Hall on 2nd October, where Bruce Foxton and Zac Schulze both join the band.

Robbie McIntosh appears at dates including Weston-Super-Mare, Great Torrington, Cambridge and Sturminster, while Ben Waters joins the band in Liverpool, Morecambe, Kendal, Newcastle, Glasgow and Edinburgh. The Tivoli in Wimborne on 18th November features both McIntosh and Waters.

Zac Schulze also lines up for shows in Hertford, Hastings and Saltaire. The UK run closes at Ripley Town Hall on 18th December, and more dates are still to be added.

Alongside the full band UK dates, Nine Below Zero will also perform a run of shows in the Netherlands, France, Italy, Spain and Scandinavia. On top of that, the band are squeezing in a short run of intimate acoustic shows, including two supporting the Fabulous Thunderbirds, to make 2027 a truly golden year.

Nine Below Zero released their classic debut LP ‘Live at the Marquee’ in 1980 and kept the momentum going with ‘Don’t Point Your Finger’ in 1981. Their third LP, ‘Third Degree’, followed on A&M Records in 1982, with its front cover image shot by legendary photographer David Bailey.

Since 1988 the band have released a further 20 LPs, adding up to an incredible recording career. Mark Feltham has also been selected as harmonica player by a whole host of acts, including Oasis, Annie Lennox, Talk Talk and Rory Gallagher.

The band’s early years were packed with memorable moments. Nine Below Zero toured with The Who and The Kinks in 1980 and 1981, and appeared on The Old Grey Whistle Test and The South Bank Show.

Perhaps most memorably of all, they made a cameo performance on the cult comedy The Young Ones, an appearance that is still fondly remembered by fans of the show and the band alike.

Today’s Nine Below Zero line-up features Dennis Greaves on guitar and vocals, Mark Feltham on harmonica and vocals, Anthony Harty on bass guitar and vocals and Sonny Greaves on drums and vocals. Fans can find out more about the two founders in the Dennis Greaves and Mark Feltham biographies on the band’s website.

The tour is an AGMP Concerts presentation. Tickets are on sale now via AGMP or by calling 0871 220 0260, and individual venue ticket links are included with each date below. Tickets for the Ripley show go on sale in 2027.
