The Snuts Announce Instore Shows And Share New Single ‘PTS’

The Snuts have announced a run of instore shows and signings in support of their forthcoming fourth album, Joy In Short Moments, which is released on 23 October via Happy Artist Records in partnership with Virgin Music Group.

The news arrives alongside new single ‘PTS’, the penultimate track written for the record and one of its most personal moments.

The instore shows and signings give fans an early chance to see the band up close and pick up the new record, ahead of a full UK headline tour later in the year.

The song was born out of the collective celebration that followed Scotland’s World Cup qualification win over Denmark. From there, it grew into a meditation on self-belief, generational trauma and forgiveness, themes frontman Jack Cochrane felt were rarely given space.

That win sealed Scotland’s place at the 2026 World Cup, the national team’s first appearance at the finals since 1998, and sparked celebrations across the country. The Snuts were in the middle of writing the album as it happened.

“It was the penultimate track we wrote for the record,” Cochrane says. “I remember stumbling our way through it the morning after Scotland beat Denmark to reach the World Cup: pure elation, a shooting star of collective celebration. It’s incredible the emotions something as trivial as football can spark.”

That rush of national pride soon led the band somewhere more reflective.

“We started digging into why belief in yourself is so often absent in young people where we’re from, and the song became an outlet to explore things I feel get left at the bottom of the ‘important to talk about’ pile: growing up without a positive role model, generational trauma.”

For Cochrane, the result is a song about letting go. “‘PTS’ is a remedy to melancholy, an end to past-life pain. It’s a song for widespread forgiveness, of others and of yourself.”

‘PTS’ sits at track five on Joy In Short Moments, an 11-track album that opens with ‘In Motion’ and closes with ‘Little Marathon Man’. The full tracklist is:

After the instore run, The Snuts will take the new album on the road this autumn with a 16-date UK headline tour. It begins at Dundee’s Livehouse on 19 November and takes in Aberdeen, Edinburgh and Dunfermline before heading south into England.

Highlights include two nights at Manchester’s Victoria Warehouse on 3 and 4 December, before the tour closes at London’s Brixton Academy on 10 December. The full dates are:

The Snuts have established themselves as one of the most successful breakthrough bands of recent years, and the new album continues a remarkable run of chart success.

Formed in Whitburn, West Lothian, the four-piece are fronted by singer and guitarist Jack Cochrane, and their roots have always been central to their music. Their debut album even took its title from their home county.

That record, W.L., entered the charts at Number 1 in 2021, and was followed by the Top 3 second album Burn The Empire in 2022.

Their independently released, self-produced third record, Millennials, reached Number 2 on the UK Albums Chart. That made them the first act since One Direction to achieve three Top 3 albums in three consecutive years.

The band have also sold out headline tours across Japan, Australia, Europe and North America, and recently headlined their first Scottish arena show at Glasgow’s OVO Hydro.

With a new single out now, instore dates on the way and a UK headline tour to follow, Joy In Short Moments looks set to be another major chapter for The Snuts.
