Tarja has released “I Don’t Care,” the second single from her forthcoming studio album Frisson Noir, and it arrives as one of the most uncompromisingly heavy tracks of her solo career.
The single sees Tarja join forces with Dani Filth, the iconic frontman of Cradle of Filth – a pairing that brings together two of metal’s most immediately recognisable voices. Tarja’s soaring operatic soprano collides head-on with Dani Filth’s razor-edged screams, creating a striking tension between beauty and brutality, elegance and chaos.

The track is a fierce declaration of personal independence. Lyrically, it rejects imposed expectations and challenges the illusions that society builds around morality, belief, and what it means to succeed on other people’s terms.
Musically, “I Don’t Care” moves between intense symphonic arrangements and heavy, modern metal power, landing somewhere dramatic and unapologetically dark. It is not a subtle record.
Tarja has spoken candidly about what the song means to her and why Dani Filth was the right collaborator for it:
“I always believed in my dreams, and I have never allowed anyone to direct my life choices. I don’t necessarily fit in, but I don’t care. I have always admired how Dani has created a brand and image for his band Cradle of Filth, and for himself, that stand out from the rest. I truly believe he is perfect for this song, where I praise individualism and simply don’t give a shit about what others have to say.”
An official music video accompanies the single release, bringing both artists together on screen. It translates the song’s dark energy into a striking, performance-driven visual that matches the track’s intensity beat for beat.
“I Don’t Care” follows the first single from Frisson Noir and further establishes the tone and ambition of the record as a whole.

Frisson Noir reflects Tarja’s ongoing conversation between cinematic orchestration, classical heritage, and the power of contemporary metal. It is an album that moves fluidly between intimate piano passages, dramatic orchestral textures, and guitar-driven moments of considerable force.
The soundscape shifts constantly between darkness and light, exploring themes including fear, beauty, nostalgia, resilience, defiance, transformation, identity, and independence.
At the centre of it all is Tarja’s voice – an instrument capable of moving from fragile emotional expression to full operatic power within the same phrase. Around it, choirs, orchestral arrangements, and layered instrumentation build a cinematic world with genuine scale and depth.

Across 10 tracks, Tarja is joined by a remarkable set of guest collaborators. Alongside Dani Filth, the album features Apocalyptica, Marko Hietala of ex-Nightwish, and Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith.
The record was mixed by GRAMMY-winning producer Neal Avron, whose credits include Linkin Park, Skillet, and Disturbed – a choice that brings a modern, hard-hitting clarity to Tarja’s already expansive sound.
Physical formats will include a CD Digipak, a Black 2LP Gatefold, and a Limited Purple 2LP Gatefold. All first-pressing formats are finished with high-quality copper foil and logo embossing.
