Beabadoobee has released her new album, Pylon, out now via Dirty Hit and Interscope Records. The record is available to stream and buy across digital, CD and vinyl formats.

Pylon follows beabadoobee’s UK number one album This Is How Tomorrow Moves and marks her most wide-ranging and complex record to date. It moves through anger, loneliness, euphoria and heartbreak, often within the same song.

Where earlier records leaned into hazy, bedroom-pop textures, Pylon finds beabadoobee pushing toward a heavier, more layered rock sound. The result is an album that feels tougher and more turbulent than anything beabadoobee has released before, without losing the raw honesty that first defined her songwriting.

The album arrives alongside new single “Write Me A Letter,” a thrumming indie-rock track produced by beabadoobee’s longtime collaborators Matty Healy and George Daniel of The 1975.

“Seeing my fault in situations but also admitting things that I would be too embarrassed to say out loud,” is how beabadoobee describes the song’s subject matter. She says it’s a track she needed to write rather than wanted to, and that Pylon gave her the right place to put it.

Much of the album was written on the road. “I had to write these songs on tour or between tours because I had to understand what was going on in my head,” beabadoobee explains. She describes Pylon as being about letting go and accepting change, and about trying to work out what it means to grow up while missing how things used to be.

Elsewhere on the record, tracks like “Sun Has Set,” “Switchblade” and “Memories” find beabadoobee writing alone in hotel rooms, a process she says brought her back to how she wrote songs at seventeen, alone in her bedroom.

Pylon also brings together a run of collaborators that a teenage beabadoobee could only have dreamed of working with. The album features contributions from Hayley Williams of Paramore, Brendan Yates of Turnstile, Evan Stephens Hall of Pinegrove, Chino Moreno of Deftones and Shane Moran of Title Fight.

That list reflects how far beabadoobee has travelled since her earliest releases, from a teenager writing songs alone in her bedroom to an artist now trading ideas with some of alternative music’s most respected voices. It is a sign of the standing beabadoobee has built across just a handful of albums and EPs, and of the trust her peers now place in her songwriting.

The fourteen-track album does not try to offer neat conclusions. Instead, Pylon leans into uncertainty, with beabadoobee embracing the idea that not having everything figured out can still produce something powerful.

Alongside the album, beabadoobee has confirmed her return to the road. The Powerlines Tour kicks off in North America in October with her first ever headline arena shows, before crossing to the UK and Europe this autumn and winter. It is the biggest tour of her career so far, with stops including Madison Square Garden, The Kia Forum and London’s O2 Arena.

Moving into arenas marks a significant step up for beabadoobee, whose shows have grown steadily in scale alongside the success of This Is How Tomorrow Moves. The North American leg alone represents her largest run of headline dates to date.

Born in the Philippines and raised in London, beabadoobee, real name Beatrice Laus, has become one of British alternative music’s defining voices across three acclaimed albums and five EPs. She has earned multiple BRIT Award and BBC Sound Of nominations, won the NME Radar Award, and racked up more than 10 billion streams worldwide alongside over 12 million social media followers.

This Is How Tomorrow Moves gave beabadoobee her first UK number one album in 2024, following the top ten success of Fake It Flowers, which reached number eight in 2020, and Beatopia, which peaked at number four in 2022.

Earlier this year, beabadoobee also released the one-off single “All I Did Was Dream Of You” alongside Grammy-nominated act The Marias, the product of a long-running mutual admiration between beabadoobee and the group’s Maria Zardoya.

With Pylon out now and a run of major arena dates ahead, beabadoobee looks set to close out the year as one of the biggest names in British alternative music. Fans can catch beabadoobee across North America this October before the tour lands in the UK and Europe.
