Bywater Call Announce Laura Evans As Special Guest On 2027 UK Tour

Canadian Southern soul and roots rock band Bywater Call have announced that British vocalist and singer-songwriter Laura Evans will join them as special guest on their January and February 2027 UK tour.

The news follows the critically acclaimed band’s recent free livestream concert, Live From Market Hall, and comes ahead of their first UK tour in support of their latest album, Broken Souvenirs.

The UK run gets under way at The Old Brewery Store in Faversham on 27 January, taking in Southampton’s The Brook, Planet Rock’s Winter’s End festival in Porthcawl, Manchester’s Band on the Wall and London’s legendary 100 Club, before closing at Anarchy Brewery in Newcastle on 7 February.

Tickets for Bywater Call’s UK tour are available now from The Gig Cartel, Bywater Call and Laura Evans.

It has been a standout year for Laura Evans, an artist who stands out from the crowd with her effortless blend of blues, rock and soul. Her album releases have now passed two million Spotify streams.

She has graced the cover of the ‘Nu Blue’ playlist and continues to receive support from Cerys Matthews at BBC Radio 2 and BBC Radio Wales.

Laura has kept a busy touring schedule over the past two years. In 2024 and 2025 she followed sell-out shows on her own UK tour with an 11-date European tour across the Netherlands, Germany and France.

Her live performances have marked her out as the ‘real deal’, and Classic Rock Magazine has compared her to Stevie Nicks jamming with Blackberry Smoke, embracing notes of Americana, pop and bluesy rock and roll.

Bywater Call is made up of Meghan Parnell (lead vocals), Dave Barnes (guitar), Bruce McCarthy (drums and percussion), Mike Meusel (bass), Andrew Moljgun (keyboards), Stephen Dyte (trumpet and valve trombone) and Julian Nalli (saxophone).

Hailing from Toronto, the groundbreaking seven-piece continues to redefine expectations of what a modern roots band can be. Renowned for transcending genre boundaries, they have built an international following through relentless touring, playing more than 130 shows across 11 countries in 2025 alone.

That reputation rests on emotionally charged live performances, fuelled by Parnell’s commanding vocals and the dynamic interplay of all seven musicians. Blues Matters has called them a must-see act, praising the band’s “rousing vocals, powerhouse rhythms, terrific slide work and the punch delivered by the horns.”

Bluestown Music went further, declaring that “this seven-piece powerhouse outfit proves they are without a doubt one of the most exciting bands of the moment.”

As the band continues its upward trajectory, it is also celebrating a third consecutive nomination for International Blues Artist of the Year at the UK Blues Awards, alongside multiple Independent Blues and Canadian Maple Blues Award nominations.

Bywater Call have made three appearances aboard Joe Bonamassa’s Keeping the Blues Alive cruise and have shared stages with Blackberry Smoke, Marcus King, The Black Keys, Warren Haynes Band, Whitehorse and Tom Cochrane. Parnell has also been invited to perform alongside acclaimed pedal steel guitarist Robert Randolph.

Their 2024 studio album Shepherd was named Classic Rock’s Blues Album of the Year, while Parnell and Barnes were featured on the cover of Blues in Britain in January 2025. The band’s 2025 live album Sunshine earned widespread critical acclaim, further cementing their reputation as one of today’s most compelling live acts.

Drawing inspiration from The Band, Tedeschi Trucks Band, Otis Redding, Little Feat, Sly & The Family Stone and The Wood Brothers, Bywater Call continue to captivate audiences with a signature sound that blends soul, blues, rock, Americana and R&B into something unmistakably their own.
