Erasure Announce 20th Album Radio!! Radio!! And 2027 UK & European Arena Tour

Erasure have announced Radio!! Radio!!, their 20th studio album, which will be released by Mute on vinyl, CD and digitally on 12 March 2027.

Andy Bell and Vince Clarke have also shared the first taste of the record, new single ‘Wings Of Love’, which premiered this morning on BBC Radio 2. Alongside it comes news of a major arena tour across the UK and Europe in April and May 2027, with special guests Ladytron.

Tickets for the tour go on general sale at 10am on Friday 2 October 2026.

Radio!! Radio!! is the BRIT and Ivor Novello award-winning duo’s first new studio album in six years, and it lands at a milestone moment for Erasure. 2026 marks the 40th anniversary of their debut album, and the new record sees Bell and Clarke continuing to build on four decades of pop songwriting.

The album is described as hopeful and defiant, effusive and ecstatic, with a set of songs about love, loss and injustice that speaks to what the band see as empathy-starved times.

‘Wings Of Love’ is a glassy slice of classic synth-pop that captures the human heart of the album. On it, Bell sings about love and loneliness, and his gratitude for the people he has valued throughout his life.

“Some of the songs are quite reflective of stuff that’s been going on in my life, but not all of them,” says Clarke. “We didn’t have to think about it or talk about it – it just happened that way.”

Radio!! Radio!! is a deeply personal record for Erasure. It was shaped by a devastating period of grief the band faced in the years before it was made, and by the bond Bell and Clarke have built over 40 years of unbroken time working together.

“When you’re a songwriting partnership for so long, it’s very deep, kind of like a soul connection,” says Bell. “You trust that person with your life, and because of the nature of songwriting, you just lay bare your soul. That becomes a sacred space.”

When the pair did come back together to write, it was as much about lifting up an old friend as it was about work. “When something traumatic happens, there’s a profound shift in the way you relate to each other – the respect you have for each other,” Bell explains.

Whether consciously or not, the songs began to take on a tone of hope and healing. “Vince has helped me through some terrible times, and so I always wanted to be there for him. I think that’s what this album is about,” says Bell.

Musically, Radio!! Radio!! stays rooted in Erasure’s familiar synth-pop palette, but with some notable additions. Clarke found himself unusually drawn to the piano while working on the album, inspired by composers such as Erik Satie, as well as to acoustic guitar.

Those instruments bring extra drama and depth to the Erasure sound. “I found techniques – ways to use piano that sounded really organic, and same with guitar,” Clarke says.

The result pairs the big, dazzling sound of the duo’s best work with more personal and reflective songwriting. Bell admits it might be easier to go on autopilot 40 years into their career, but says that would never pass as Erasure.

“It’s a two-person brain, and everything that we’ve gone through comes into it,” he says. “We have a sense of responsibility. We couldn’t ever do something throwaway.”

The Radio!! Radio!! Tour opens at Cardiff’s Utilita Arena on 25 April 2027 and travels around the UK, taking in Liverpool, Birmingham, Manchester, Glasgow and a Dublin date at the 3Arena, before the UK leg finishes at London’s The O2 on 12 May.

Erasure then head to Germany, Denmark and Sweden, with the tour currently closing at Stockholm’s Avicii Arena on 28 May. Ladytron join as special guests on all UK and Ireland dates, and more shows are set to be announced.

There is one major change for this tour. Vince Clarke will act as Musical Director but will not appear onstage alongside Andy Bell, following a difficult experience with long-haul travel.

“I recently moved to California from New York, and I travelled from here to London. The travelling took a toll – it really messed me up. I never seemed to recover from it,” Clarke explains. “I just thought ‘I don’t want to do this anymore’. I told Andy, and he made me musical director, and I thought, ‘how fantastic is that?’ I can do all my work and all my direction from here, but I don’t have to leave sunny San Diego.”

Bell is fully behind the decision. “I’m so pleased that we were able to find a way for the tour to work for Vince. He’s always too modest but he’s so much more than the Musical Director, Vince is one of the great loves of my life and everything we do as Erasure we decide together.”

Radio!! Radio!! features ten new songs. The album opens with ‘Baby On The Radio Forever’, with ‘Wings Of Love’ arriving third, and closes with ‘There Ain’t No Place Like Home’. The album can be pre-ordered here, and the full tracklisting is below.
