Northern Irish country singer-songwriter, Gareth has released his debut album, Halfway Home, which is out now. The long-awaited record arrives as his latest single, “One That Got Away”, continues to climb the UK Country Airplay Chart, where it currently sits at No. 14.
The single has picked up extensive airplay from Smooth Country, CountryLine Radio and BBC Radio Wales, as well as Downtown Country back home in Northern Ireland. The album closes with “Happy For You”, which has also been given its own music video.

For a debut release, it is a strong showing at UK country radio, and a sign of how quickly Gareth’s music is connecting with listeners on this side of the Atlantic.
Now based in Nashville, Gareth has made an album about living between two worlds while never really leaving home behind. He describes Halfway Home as “a culmination of the last two years of my life: moving away from home to chase a dream while being reminded of family, friends, and the place I come from. This project consists of the stories, emotions, and feelings from these years.”
Gareth co-wrote every song on the record, working alongside some of Nashville’s top writers. His collaborators include Grammy winner Josh Osborne and Grammy nominees Shy Carter and Zach Crowell.
Despite the big-name collaborators, the songs stay rooted in his own experiences, from leaving home and living on his own to missing the people he left behind.
Throughout the writing process, he says, honesty came first. “I didn’t want to write what I thought people wanted to hear – I wanted to tell the truth,” Gareth explains. “I wrote about the real feelings I’ve had growing up, leaving home, moving away, living on my own, missing people, chasing something I’ve dreamed about for a long time and still not totally knowing where I’m going.”
“These songs helped me understand myself a little better… and I hope somewhere in here, it can help you understand what you’re feeling too.”
The album release follows a special night at the Grand Ole Opry last weekend. On 26 September, Gareth returned to the famous Nashville stage, where he made his historic debut in 2025, to perform songs from Halfway Home.
Being invited back to the Opry so soon after his first appearance marks another milestone for an artist from Northern Ireland making his way in the heart of country music.
He also used the occasion to share an unreleased song for the very first time. “How I’ll Remember You” is an emotional tribute to his late grandfather, and one of the most personal moments yet in his journey from Northern Ireland to Nashville.
That journey started online. Raised in Northern Ireland, Gareth first found an audience through his covers, with millions of people discovering him through viral moments on social media. Those fans stayed for the voice and the songs, and his following has since grown to more than 175 million global streams and over 2 million followers across platforms.
In 2025 he stepped into the Grand Ole Opry circle for the first time, taking a journey that began in Northern Ireland to one of the most iconic stages in country music.
His music carries pieces of both places with it. There is warmth in his writing and honesty in his singing, with a natural ability to make a song feel personal without overcomplicating it.
Halfway Home brings both sides of that story together, capturing the feeling of building a life somewhere new while still carrying a piece of home. More than anything, the album finds Gareth settling into a sound that is uniquely his own.
