Southampton hard rockers Black Water Redemption have released their self-titled debut album today (2 October), and it is out now to stream and buy here.

It is a big moment for a band who have spent years earning their stripes on the road, and the record finally captures that live firepower on a full-length release.

To mark the occasion, the band have also premiered the official music video for their latest single, “I Gave It All”. The track gives a strong taste of what to expect from the album, pairing hard-hitting riffs with a raw, personal lyric.

Rooted in the weight and attitude of classic hard rock, the Southampton four-piece deliver a modern, groove-driven sound built on power, precision and sharp musicianship. It is music made with the stage in mind, and that focus runs right through the new record.

Black Water Redemption grew out of the foundations of the members’ previous band, Western Sand. The group re-emerged in 2022 with a clear creative reset and a renewed sense of direction, and they have been building momentum ever since.

For Black Water Redemption, that reset was a fresh start in every sense. The band sharpened their songwriting and leaned fully into the heavier, groove-led hard rock that defines them today.

Years of heavy touring have seen them share stages with international names including Black Star Riders, Michael Schenker, Inglorious and Skid Row. Those shows have helped establish Black Water Redemption as a tight, highly disciplined live act on the UK rock circuit.

Their debut EP followed in 2023, and the new album pushes on into heavier and more refined territory. Where the EP introduced the band, the album shows just how much they have grown in the years since.

“I Gave It All” sees the band at their most direct. “‘I Gave It All’ is a song about feeling trapped and done with a toxic relationship,” explains guitarist Tyler Hains. “It captures that moment of realising I have done everything possible to make things work, and it is finally time to cut ties, knowing I gave it everything I had.”

Hains says the band can’t wait for fans to hear the full record. “We are buzzing for everyone to hear the record. The initial singles have gone down a storm, and what came out naturally was an album that hits heavy, digs into the blues, and even features a proper ballad,” he says.

“We wanted to pull in all of our core influences to create something that offers a bit of everything, while keeping things open for us as musicians. From hard riffs and massive choruses to classic rock screams, it is all in there.”

With the full album now out, “I Gave It All” joins those earlier singles as a clear statement of where the band are heading, and of the confidence they have found since their EP days.

That mix of heavy rock, blues and balladry makes for a varied listen, but one that stays firmly rooted in the classic hard rock sound that has driven the band from the start.

Early reaction to the album has been strong. Maximum Volume, who tipped the band for stardom in their early days, says that on this evidence they “remain most certainly ones to watch”, while At The Barrier calls it “an album that deals unashamedly with proper hard rock”, praising its big riffs, scorching guitar solos and anthemic choruses.

Rawramp was equally enthusiastic, describing Black Water Redemption as “a high-impact, full-bore blazing achievement”. For a debut album, it is the kind of response that suggests the band’s hard work on the road is paying off.
