Sawyer Hill Releases Video For Lady Arkansas

Sawyer Hill Lady Arkansas video still

Sawyer Hill has released a new video for Lady Arkansas, a track from his debut album Everybody’s Home, Nobody’s Happy, which is out now via AWAL Recordings.

The video was filmed before the start of the singer’s recent tour. It arrives in the wake of a tragic bus accident earlier this month that claimed the life of the band’s driver, David “Rollingcloud” Jackson, and it offers a new perspective on the song in light of those events.

Sawyer Hill is originally from Fayetteville, Arkansas, and the state sits at the heart of Lady Arkansas. The song is about coming home, both to the woman he loves and to the place he grew up.

The video had originally been planned for release later in the year. Following the accident and the difficult weeks that came after it, Hill decided that now was the right moment to share it.

Speaking about the release, he says: “We filmed this video for Lady Arkansas a while back and originally planned to share it later in the year. But after the bus accident and everything we’ve been through these past couple of weeks, this song has taken on a whole new meaning for me.”

“I wrote it about coming home – to the woman I love, and to Arkansas, which will always be home no matter where life takes me,” he continues. “Lately, the words ‘I’ll be home soon’ have carried a different weight.”

“I feel incredibly lucky to be able to say those words, and more grateful than ever for the people and places I get to come home to. It just felt like the right time to share this one with you.”

The line he highlights, “I’ll be home soon”, is a simple promise in the original song. After the events of this month, it now reads as something closer to a statement of gratitude, which is why Hill felt the track deserved a fresh look.

Lady Arkansas is one of the songs on Everybody’s Home, Nobody’s Happy, the debut album that introduced Hill’s songwriting to a wider audience. The record is available now on all major streaming platforms via AWAL Recordings.

A GoFundMe has been set up for the family of David “Rollingcloud” Jackson, the driver who lost his life in the accident. Fans who would like to support his family can find it at GoFundMe.

As a result of the accident, the original North American dates of the Everybody’s Home, Nobody’s Happy Tour have been postponed. New North American dates for 2027 will be announced in the coming weeks.

Hill’s international dates for 2027 are unaffected and remain confirmed, so fans outside North America can still expect to see him on the road next year as planned.

For now, the Lady Arkansas video gives fans a chance to revisit one of the album’s most personal songs, and to hear it in a new light after a hard few weeks for Hill, his band and his crew.
