More than 25 years in the making, Sixpence None The Richer are finally coming to Europe – and they’re calling the tour exactly what it is: The First (Proper) European Tour.

The run of UK and European dates lands in September and October 2026, and features the band’s founding duo of guitarist Matt Slocum and vocalist Leigh Nash, alongside bassist Justin Cary, who has been with the group since 1996.

It’s a rare chance to see one of the most enduring acts of the alternative rock era doing exactly what they do best. The band are every bit as excited as the fans.

“We are so looking forward to these shows,” said Leigh Nash. “It’s been far too long!” Matt Slocum echoed the sentiment: “We’re really looking forward to playing music in the UK and Europe again. It’s been a long time.”

That’s something of an understatement – but then, some things are worth the wait.

The Song That Changed Everything

Sixpence None The Richer began taking shape in the early 1990s when Matt Slocum and Leigh Nash met at a church retreat in Texas. What followed was a journey that would see the band reach millions of listeners around the world.

The turning point came in 1999 with the release of “Kiss Me” from their self-titled album. The song didn’t just chart – it became a cultural touchstone, appearing in films, television shows, and adverts, and embedding itself into the DNA of a generation.

It helped propel the band to triple Platinum status in the US and Platinum in the UK, and it has never really gone away.

Recent years have seen a fresh wave of artists putting their own stamp on the track. Lisa of BLACKPINK, Sabrina Carpenter, Kelly Clarkson, Jada Facer, and Madilyn Bailey have all recorded versions, bringing Sixpence None The Richer to entirely new audiences in the process.

“Kiss Me” wasn’t the only string to the band’s bow, of course. Their cover of The Las’ “There She Goes” became another beloved staple, while “Breathe Your Name” and “Don’t Dream It’s Over” further cemented their reputation for turning a song into something genuinely lasting.

Back and Better Than Ever

After formally reuniting in 2024, Sixpence None The Richer have wasted no time. The past couple of years have seen a burst of new activity, with three recordings released since their return.

The Rosemary Hill EP arrived first, accompanied by a critically acclaimed video of the same name. That was followed by Dawn of Grace, a Christmas album, and then Live at Gruene Hall – the band’s first ever live album, recorded in their hometown of New Braunfels, Texas.

The momentum hasn’t let up. Following a hugely successful run of dates across the US and South and Central America through 2025 and into 2026, Sixpence None The Richer are in formidable shape heading into the European leg.

The Numbers Don’t Lie

The statistics make clear just how significant Sixpence None The Richer remain in the cultural landscape. The band sit in the top 1% of Chartmetric’s All Time Artist ranking, have accumulated over 2.1 billion streams, and currently attract more than 12.5 million monthly listeners on Spotify.

These aren’t legacy numbers propped up by nostalgia – they reflect a genuinely active and growing fanbase, one that spans generations and shows no sign of shrinking.

Don’t Miss This

The First (Proper) European Tour is, as the name suggests, a long time coming. Sixpence None The Richer have never played a proper run of European dates before, making this a genuinely historic occasion for fans on this side of the Atlantic.

Whether you’ve been following Sixpence None The Richer since “Kiss Me” first took over the airwaves in 1999, or you’ve come to them more recently through one of the countless covers or the band’s new material, this is a show you’ll want to be at.
