Vermont’s most emotionally honest songwriter teams with Aaron Dessner for a gut-punch of a track ahead of new album, The Great Divide, due April 24th. A stadium tour, a Netflix documentary, and a Billboard chart record round out one of the most anticipated rollouts in years.
Noah Kahan has never been one to look away. With his new single “Porch Light,” out now via Mercury Records, the 2x GRAMMY®-nominated, multi-platinum singer-songwriter turns that unflinching gaze toward one of his most personal subjects yet: the emotional cost his family paid for his art.
Written during Kahan’s first studio session with GRAMMY®-winning producer Aaron Dessner (Taylor Swift, Bon Iver) and produced alongside longtime Stick Season collaborator Gabe Simon (Dua Lipa, Lana Del Rey, Koe Wetzel), the track was recorded between Dessner’s storied Long Pond Studio in Hudson, NY and Gold Pacific Studios in Nashville.
The result is exactly the kind of song that made Kahan a phenomenon: intimate, bruising, and impossible to shake.
“I hope you tell me that you’re winding down / That you’ve lost the taste to face the crowd / That whatever made you famous made you sick.”
“Porch Light” finds Kahan adopting his mother’s perspective, singing the quiet, worried thoughts a parent might harbour while their child is consumed by fame. It’s a radical act of empathy, and a reminder that Kahan’s storytelling has always been about more than himself.
The song arrives as the latest preview of his highly anticipated fourth studio album, The Great Divide, due April 24th.

The Great Divide: Already Making History
If the lead single is any indication, The Great Divide is going to be one of the defining albums of 2026. The album’s title track debuted as the second biggest song debut of the year and became Kahan’s first #1 on the Billboard Hot Rock & Alternative Songs Chart.
It also debuted at #6 on the Billboard Hot 100 – his highest charting single ever, surpassing the cultural juggernaut “Stick Season.” Internationally, it landed as his biggest chart debut across Canada, Ireland, the UK, Australia, and the Netherlands.

On radio, “The Great Divide” posted the quickest rise to #1 on the Adult Alternative Airplay Chart in a decade and has held the top spot on the Alternative Airplay Chart for five consecutive weeks. Billboard has already flagged the album as a 2027 GRAMMY® Album of the Year contender.
A Million-Ticket Stadium Tour – And Four Nights at Fenway
This summer, Noah Kahan takes The Great Divide on the road for the biggest tour of his career. The sold-out, 30-date North American stadium run has already moved more than one million tickets, kicking off June 11–12 in Orlando, FL and winding through Philadelphia, Toronto, Boston, Chicago, New York, Washington DC, Los Angeles, Vancouver, and more before wrapping August 31st in Seattle, WA.
The most remarkable stop on the itinerary: four sold-out nights at Boston’s Fenway Park, making the Vermont native the first artist in history to play and sell out four consecutive nights at the iconic venue. Gigi Perez will support on all dates, with Annabelle Dinda joining for the majority of shows.
Out of Body: A Documentary Premieres at SXSW
Rounding out what is shaping up to be a defining year, Kahan’s long-awaited documentary, Noah Kahan: Out of Body, will world premiere on March 16th at SXSW before arriving on Netflix.
The film follows Kahan at a crossroads: working on The Great Divide while navigating the mounting pressure that comes after a breakout like Stick Season. He returns to his Vermont roots and family, grappling with questions of identity, home, and what it means to create something new in the shadow of something beloved.
From Vermont to the World
The numbers behind Noah Kahan’s rise are staggering: nearly 15 billion global streams, nearly 12 million global albums sold, 22 Platinum and Gold certifications, and over 2 million tickets sold worldwide.

His 2022 breakthrough Stick Season achieved 4x Platinum status and its title track hit 8x Platinum, reaching #1 across North America, the UK, and Europe. It became the fourth best-selling album of 2024 and remains in the Top 15 more than three years after its release.
Beyond the music, Kahan has used his platform to build something lasting. His mental health non-profit, The Busyhead Project – founded in 2023 – has raised over $6.6 million to date in support of mental health awareness.
“Porch Light” is out now. The Great Divide arrives April 24th via Mercury Records.
