Dirty Honey have announced their third full-length album, Catch My Butterfly, which will arrive on January 15, 2027. The Los Angeles rock trio have also shared the first two singles from the record, “Lights Out” and “Butterfly,” both of which are available now.

Produced by John Feldmann, whose credits include Yungblud, blink-182 and Korn, Catch My Butterfly is billed as the next evolution for Dirty Honey. Vocalist Marc LaBelle, guitarist John Notto and bassist Justin Smolian expand the band’s sound while keeping the grit, energy and authenticity that has defined their rise.

“I’m very proud of our perseverance. Any band has to really survive to make a third record,” said LaBelle. “We’ve made mistakes in the studio, gotten over past regrets, lived more, and become better songwriters. All of those things snowballed into Catch My Butterfly.”

“Catch My Butterfly shows the width of what we can do as musicians and songwriters. We’re no one-trick pony,” added Smolian.

The first single, “Lights Out,” kicks the record off in dramatic fashion. Like a roller coaster clinking towards the top of a hill, it builds on open chords, delay-drenched staccato guitar, toe-tapping bass and a steady beat, before turning on a dime into corkscrew riffing and a solo that practically leaves Notto’s fretboard in flames.

“‘Lights Out’ was the first banger,” said Notto. “It’s one of those rare times when I got the solo right on the demo! It’s only one flavor of the album though. There’s so much more.”

“Butterfly” shows a very different side of Dirty Honey. Wistful acoustic guitar and gentle strings set the tone, while LaBelle leans into the soulful side of his register. The sunny instrumentation contrasts with the weight of the subject matter, which deals with addiction.

LaBelle explained the personal background to the song. “There are addiction issues in my family,” the frontman revealed. “I tried to write from a different perspective, either that of a father to an addicted child or the family member of an addict. In this scenario, you’re so overcome with worry about whether or not your loved one is alive or dead at any given moment.”

He continued, “My thought was, ‘If you don’t get high, there’s no way that you’re going to catch this person who is so beautiful in your eyes, but so broken at the same time.’”

Together, the two singles give fans a taste of what to expect from the most dynamic album to date from Dirty Honey, with the heavier energy of “Lights Out” sitting alongside the more reflective tone of “Butterfly.”

Catch My Butterfly runs to 14 tracks. Alongside the two singles, the album includes songs such as “Wanderlust,” “American Lies” and “New Blood.” Here is the full tracklist:

Since emerging in 2019, Dirty Honey have established themselves as one of the standout rock bands of their generation. Their breakout single “When I’m Gone” made rock history as the first song by an unsigned artist to reach number one on the Billboard Mainstream Rock Chart.

A recharged version of “When I’m Gone” later featured in 2025’s record-breaking blockbuster A Minecraft Movie. In between, the band released their self-titled debut album in 2021, followed by Can’t Find The Brakes in 2023, which debuted at number two on the Billboard Top Hard Rock Albums Chart.

On the road, Dirty Honey have toured extensively with artists including Guns N’ Roses and The Black Crowes, while also selling out successive headline tours of their own.

The critical response has followed. Loudwire, Classic Rock Magazine, Spill Magazine and Rolling Stone have all praised the trio, with Rolling Stone noting how Dirty Honey channel the spirit of the rock gods of old while adding a modern twist.
