‘Grey’ marks a significant milestone in Kiefer Sutherland’s musical journey, representing his continued dedication to country, Americana and folk genres.
The album was written and recorded over a two-year period between 2024 and 2026, and Sutherland has spoken openly about the personal nature of the material.
“To begin, I want to express how happy and excited I am to be releasing my fourth album, ‘Grey’,” Sutherland said. “The songs were written and recorded over a two-year period from 2024 to 2026. In many ways these songs mark a growth for me personally, as I wrote less about observations and more about personal feelings that I have been navigating in my own life.”

The album’s lead single, ‘Simpler Time’, offers a glimpse into the reflective tone that runs throughout ‘Grey’. Kiefer Sutherland has described the track as a meditation on youth and memory, touching on themes that feel particularly resonant in the current cultural and political climate.
“‘Simpler Time’ is a reflection on my youth and the memory of a time that felt more reliable culturally, socially and politically,” Sutherland explained. “I am aware that the memory of one’s youth is often seen through rose tinted glasses, but in this instance, personally, I don’t think so.”
‘Grey’ features production from a trio of acclaimed names: Ethan Johns, Rocco DeLuca and Mark Neill. Johns is a highly respected producer and engineer known for his work with artists including Ryan Adams, Paolo Nutini and Kings of Leon.
DeLuca is a singer-songwriter and longtime collaborator of Sutherland’s, while Neill has built a reputation for his work in roots and Americana production. The combination of these three distinct voices behind the desk promises a rich and considered sonic palette across the record.
The album will be available on both vinyl and CD, and is open for pre-order now via Maple Creek Records. For fans eager to get their hands on a physical copy, pre-orders are already live ahead of the May 29th release date.
Alongside the album announcement, Kiefer Sutherland has confirmed an extensive live schedule taking in the UK, Europe, Ireland and North America across spring and summer.

UK highlights include a show at London’s Union Chapel, one of the capital’s most beloved and atmospheric live music venues, known for its stunning Gothic architecture and intimate acoustic setting – a fitting backdrop for Sutherland’s rootsy, introspective sound.
Since stepping into the spotlight as a recording artist, Kiefer Sutherland has built a loyal following in the Americana and country space, carving out a genuine musical identity that stands apart from his celebrated acting career. With ‘Grey’, he appears to be pushing further into personal territory, delivering what could be his most emotionally candid work to date.
‘Simpler Time’ is out now. ‘Grey’ is released on May 29th via Maple Creek Records and is available to pre-order now. Tickets for the upcoming tour are on sale now.
